How long have you been with Latitude?

For a long time. I started mowing the lawn when I was 16. I learned a lot about the printing process by reclaiming the screens from the silkscreen department. That was a messy job. I continued to work for Latitude part-time while I went to college studying graphic technologies and digital printing. After graduating, I worked full-time for three years in the digital printing department.

Then I moved away for a while and worked for other digital print vendors. During that time, I went back to college to earn my degree in marketing. After being away from the caring culture at Latitude I realized I was ready to come back. The timing couldn’t have been better as a position had recently become available in Denver. I had never been to Colorado, but I knew Latitude was the place for me. I moved out here five years ago in September and it’s the best move I have ever made.

What industry do you work with the most?

We do a lot of projects for education and healthcare facilities. Both industries require strong branding and detailed wayfinding throughout their spaces. Latitude is capable of managing all of our large, unique projects while always paying close attention to detail.

What is a project you are really proud of?

We recently completed a project for the Air Force Academy athletics department. We totally overhauled the look of their football and basketball hallways, meeting areas, and locker rooms with floor to ceiling graphic images and wall coverings. Not only was it a rewarding project to work on because of the unique signage products, but it totally transformed the way the athletic department recruits. It’s cool to know we played a role in helping student athletes feel at home at the Air Force Academy.

What makes Latitude unique?

The people. It’s truly a family atmosphere. Everyone genuinely cares for you and wants to know what you’ve been up to. When I come back to the main office in Grinnell, I get hugs from people who’ve known me for years. It’s not just a job. It’s family.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I’m a die-hard Steelers fan. One of my earliest memories is of my Dad throwing me up into the air when the Steelers won the AFC championship game. Steelers football has always been a special thing with me and my dad. We even got to go to a game together in Pittsburgh last year.

If you could go on a dream vacation, where would you go and why?

I’d like to go on a European vacation. There are a lot of interesting places I want to visit, but I definitely want to see Italy. My wife studied abroad in Italy during college, and I’d love to take her back and see the country for myself.
