ADA Sign Guidelines

The Amer­i­cans with Dis­abil­i­ties Act (ADA) has been an enforce­able law in the US since July 1991.

Recent­ly we have devel­oped a new White Paper title ADA Acces­si­ble Sig­nage Update. This white paper out­lines all of the updat­ed codes issues relat­ed to ADA signage.

The Amer­i­cans with Dis­abil­i­ties Act (ADA) has been law since the ear­ly 1990’s and was updat­ed in mid 2012. Since the orig­i­nal ADA became enforce­able, there had been sev­er­al updates to acces­si­ble codes by indi­vid­ual states but no update on the fed­er­al lev­el. The 2010 Stan­dard for Acces­si­ble Design (SAD) was devel­oped to har­mo­nize all the codes across the coun­try and on March 15, 2012 became the new ADA codes that every­one must fol­low.
